Brendon Leitch and Anthony McIntosh triumphed at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals held at Jerez, Spain, capping an unforgettable weekend with back-to-back victories in the Pro-Am class. Competing for Leipert Motorsport in a Lamborghini Huracan, the pair showcased their skill and teamwork to outpace top competitors from Europe, America, and Asia.
The event comprised two sections: the conclusion of Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe and the World Finals. In challenging conditions, Leitch and McIntosh secured third and fifth-place finishes in the European rounds. The stage was set under clear skies for the World Finals, where the duo rose to the occasion.
Race 1 unfolded dramatically, with Leitch navigating through the chaos to win by 1.6 seconds. In Race 2, a stellar early drive by Leitch allowed McIntosh to take over in second position. Strategic pit stops gave McIntosh the lead, and he crossed the finish line to secure the title with a perfect score of 30 points.
McIntosh, who also earned Am class honours in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series, credited Leitch for their success. “I couldn’t have done it without Brendon. He’s been amazing, an amazing co-driver,” McIntosh said.
The victory further bolsters Leitch’s impressive career, adding to his 2022 Pro class Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe title. Reflecting on the achievement, Leitch said, “Tony brought the thing home for us and did an amazing job at the end. I couldn’t have asked for a better teammate.”
This season also marked significant milestones for Leitch. The 28-year-old New Zealander claimed victories in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia alongside Tim Miles, outpacing racing icons like Supercars champion Will Brown and Bathurst winner Chaz Mostert. He also debuted in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Leitch is now focused on finalising his plans for the 2025 season, where he will compete as a Gold-rated driver, further cementing his status as a rising star in international motorsport.
