Bluff residents are being advised to prepare for a power outage this afternoon, with power set to go off between 4pm and 7pm. The interruption is due to a broken power pole near Greenhills, which requires urgent repair.
Crews are already on-site installing a replacement pole nearby. The outage will take place while power lines are safely transferred from the damaged pole to the new one.
The work area is roughly 15 metres from State Highway 1. Although road closures are not expected, traffic management may be in place to ensure safety.
The cause of the damage remains unclear, but high winds and poor weather conditions have made the repair work more challenging. A spokesperson said, “We appreciate your patience and care while we work to undertake these urgent repairs.”
The team expects power to be fully restored by 7pm. However, updates will be provided on the company’s website and Facebook page if there are any changes. A confirmation will also be shared once power has been restored.
