The group of motor bikers stopped at the eastern entrance to Invercargill were just the subject of a general check.
The group were riding into town presumably for some of the weekend’s activities offered in the annual Burt Munro Challenge.
The group were checked over by the eastern cemetery. A considerable Police presence was on hand during the operation.
A Police spokesman says the group were pulled over to check licences were current, WOF’s and registrations were up to date and for breath alcohol levels.
The Police spokesman says there were no issues arising from the check and the group were allowed to carry on their way.
The spokesman says the checks are all part of Police routine and they will be doing more random checks over the next few days due to the extra number of vehicles on the roads.

He says these sort of general checks are something Police do all year round.
A group of patched Greasy Dog motor bikers rode through central Invercargill a short while later.
