Some big new brands are coming South, plus some existing brands planning to relocate, with Invercargill Central confirming today some of the tenants occupying leases in the new inner city development.

Stage one of the development has been set down for June 10 with anchor tenant Farmers and associated retail stores, along with 250 car parks ready for opening.

Among the big names are Max and Barkers in one combined store, Cotton On* – who will be expanding into a mega store to include the kids division and Rubi Shoes.

Merchant 1948 (formerly Overlands), Pagani*, Hallensteins*, Glasson*, Amazon, 2Degrees,  and Reading Cinema’s, with 85% of the floor space occupied. * = (currently on Esk Street)

Invercargill Central public relations manager Amy Hibbs said negotiations are ongoing with other potential tenants.

The construction project will be completed by the end of 2022 with a food and beverage precinct, apartments and offices also included in the development.

Currently 85% of the floor space within the development has been leased. Negotiations are ongoing with other potential tenants.

June 10, 2022 will see Stage One open, which will include Farmers and associated retail stores, along with 250 car parks. The construction project will be completed by the end of 2022.
