It’s been an exciting month for Southland physiotherapist clinic Sportsmed Physio as it continues to demonstrate its elite excellence among the sporting community.
Physiotherapist to the Southland Sharks basketball team Hayden Sproat has barely had time to catch his breath on the back of the Sharks NBL win before he jets off on his next adventure.
Sproat has been selected as a physiotherapist for Basketball New Zealand’s select team and will travel to Auckland and China in the coming months.
The select team develops a wider pool of elite basketball players to back up the Tall Blacks and give players a taste of international level basketball.
Sproat’s appointment will see him looking after the select team at the pre-departure camp in Auckland where they will play Japan in two “friendlies”.
The team will then travel on to China for a 12-day tour.
“It’s certainly an exciting time and I’m really looking forward to working with the emerging talent we’ve got coming through in New Zealand basketball,” Sproat said.
Sproat’s appointment comes shortly after fellow Sportsmed colleague Karl McDonald was selected as the Men’s Rugby Sevens Referee Physiotherapist/Trainer for the World Sevens circuit
