Most of Blue River’s supervisors and managers have been promoted within the company. Having started their journeys at Blue River Dairy in different roles, they have been given the room to learn, adapt, and grow to become leaders that Blue River Dairy and Southland can be proud of.
Blue River Dairy Shift Supervisor, Wade Isiah, has been with the business since 2016 and has worked his way up through the company.
Wade speaks highly of the company’s nurturing environment. It is a unique place, one that encourages leadership and growth opportunities.
“When I started here in 2016, I worked on the factory floor, in pasteurising, dryer operating and dry mixing. I was always given opportunities to do new things, and any mistakes were treated as a learning experience,” he said.
Wade now oversees the entire production line, leading others to deliver products they’re proud of whilst helping them to grow their own skillsets.
Josephine Turnbull joined Blue River Dairy in 2020, bringing her expertise in quality control to her new role as a Quality Assurance Officer.
“I really like that Blue River Dairy is small and we’re able to work cross-functionally with other departments to get a wide variety of work experience and knowledge,” she said.
Blue River supports staff to ensure opportunities are available to invest in learning and personal development.
