Raine & Horne, an established Australian real estate ‘super brand’, has recently acquired the widespread New Zealand Mike Pero Real Estate network. This acquisition includes 55 franchisees and 120 licensed agents, marking a significant expansion for Raine & Horne in the New Zealand market.
Following this purchase, Mike Pero Real Estate will undergo a rebranding to Raine & Horne. Meanwhile, the Mike Pero Group will cease its real estate activities, concentrating instead on its financial service offerings through Mike Pero Mortgages.
This strategic move aims to combine the strengths of both companies, with a focus on providing integrated financial service solutions. Raine & Horne will work closely with Mike Pero Mortgages in New Zealand, leveraging their combined expertise to enhance customer service.
The newly acquired business will have its headquarters in Christchurch, reflecting the long-standing influence and success of Mike Pero Real Estate in this region.
Angus Raine, Executive Chairman of Raine & Horne, has expressed his admiration for the heritage and impact of Mike Pero Real Estate, especially in Christchurch and the South Island. He highlighted the shared values and commitment to growth between the two brands.
Raine & Horne’s venture into New Zealand’s real estate market began in early 2023. Since then, they have rapidly expanded, establishing 13 offices across the North Island. This aggressive growth strategy is driven by the demand for a major real estate brand like Raine & Horne in New Zealand.
The firm’s expansion is fueled by the similarities in real estate practices between New Zealand and Australia. Raine & Horne prides itself on its support to its offices, its global presence, and its advanced technology, including AI and social media marketing tools.
Aaron Skilton, CEO of Liberty in New Zealand and Managing Director of Mike Pero Real Estate, views this partnership as highly beneficial for all parties involved. He assures that while the real estate network undergoes changes, the iconic Kiwi brand will continue through Mike Pero Mortgages.
The transition from Mike Pero Real Estate to Raine and Horne is set to begin in early 2024. Operations are expected to continue smoothly for clients during and after this transition.
