A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary that occurred at the Otatara Four Square convenience store around midnight on Saturday, 25 March. The perpetrator gained access to the property by using a vehicle.

Southland Area Investigation Manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Baird, stated that a search warrant was executed on Sunday evening, which led to the arrest of the 27-year-old suspect. The vehicle used in the burglary was also seized.

The accused appeared in the Invercargill District Court, facing charges of burglary, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and other driving-related offenses. He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court again on 13 April.

As the case is now before the courts, the police cannot provide any further information.
