It was another great day in Bluff on Sunday when the annual Santa Parade and Christmas In The Bluff Gala Day took place.
The Santa Parade, organised by Bluff Promotions, started the festivities, moving down Gore Street (SH1) to Palmer Street and Barrow Street before the focus shifted to the Gala Day at the Oyster Festival site where young and old alike enjoyed a range of activities from the Santa Grotto to fun games and activities, food, live music and crafts. Admission was free as were the children’s activities. One patron said the event just gets better every year.
The Christmas In The Bluff Committee organises the Gala Day and committee member Yvonne Pickford said, “there were just a lot of smiley, happy faces. People were really happy. A highlight had been a flashmob organized by Kylie Lawson,” she said.
Alison Patrick of Bluff Promotions, said the parade went well. “There were a lot of people dressed up and new entries we have not seen before. It was very successful.”
Support for the parade came from NES (Network Electrical Servicing), RTM (Road Traffic Management), Awarua Synergy, the Foveaux Hotel, Lighting Direct, E Hayes & Sons, Splash Palace, Bluff New Life Church, Solve It and Escape along with Rugby Southland while Talleys, Sanfords, South Port NZ Ltd support the Gala Day along with the Bluff Rugby Club and Splash Palace.” Thanks to Awarua Synergy for sponsoring the live stream on What’s On Invers.
