If you are business owner please take just a few minutes to complete this survey. Interesting to note that one of the big problems for businesses last year was finding the right staff !
We are in a rapidly changing and volatile business world so any info that will assist southern businesses going forward would be an enormous help.

Southland Business Survey 2016

Venture Southland is once again measuring the level of confidence within the Southland business community.

The business team is surveying Southland businesses to find out what their challenges, pressures and opportunities are present in 2016.

This is the third year that Venture Southland has surveyed the Southland business community. Data collected in the two previous surveys has been used to develop a wide range of regional initiatives including the Southland Regional Development Strategy – the Southland Regional Labour Force Survey, as well as sector training, events and initiatives.

Any business based in Southland can complete the online survey which takes about 10 minutes to fill in.

The survey touches on the current business environment, where Southland companies are doing business, where they are exporting, challenges, use of new technology and employment trends among other topics.

Business projects coordinator Rhiannon Suter says “Venture Southland wants to find out what is top of businesses agendas in 2016. Last year 58% of businesses said that finding the right people was their top challenge, up 20% on 2014. Exports and business confidence were strong and more businesses were online – many using social media”.

“Because the survey is undertaken annually, we are able to track trends and impacts of factors such as global commodity price fluctuations and online retail, on Southland businesses

From Tuesday 1 March, the survey can be found at: www.venturesouthland.co.nz
