Joe Huth is a dedicated "Knight Rider" historian who owns one of the original KITT cars used in the 1980s television series. His passion for the show led him to co-author "Knight Rider: 30 Years of a Lone Crusader and His Talking Car" and establish the "Knight Rider Historians" website with fellow enthusiast AJ Palmgren.
In 2018, Huth's KITT was featured on an episode of "Jay Leno's Garage," where he shared insights into the car's construction and history. He explained that his KITT is a 1984 Pontiac Firebird modified to resemble a Trans Am, serving as a stunt car in the show's final two seasons. After the series concluded, the car was displayed at Universal Studios before being rediscovered and acquired by Huth and Palmgren in 2008.
Huth's expertise extends beyond KITT; he and Palmgren also located and acquired the original GMC General semi-truck used as the mobile unit in "Knight Rider." Their efforts to preserve and share the show's history have been recognized by fans and media alike.
