A campervan and truck collied near Cromwell this morning where a 18-month old toddler has been taken to hospital.

NZTA have advised the road closed at 12 noon and was re opened at 1pm.

What we know

  • Police were called to the crash in SH6 at the intersection with SH8B at 10.50am.
  • At least one person was trapped in one of the vehicles for a time
  • St John spokesman Gerard Campbell said a man was transported to Lakes District Hospital, in Queenstown, with moderate injuries.
  • A 18-month old child was transported by ambulance to Dunstan Hospital with minor injuries.

UPDATE 12:00PM #SH6 has now been CLOSED at the intersection with #SH8B due to the earlier #crash. The road is expected to be closed for some time.
Motorists are advised to follow the directions of emergency services onsite. ^JP
