Petsmart.nz – “Your locally owned pet food specialist” – celebrates 10 years of delivering premium pet food and accessories to its Invercargill and Southland customers – head in today and tomorrow to grab a “birthday” bargain.

Owner Graeme Lewis said specials were available on a large range of items and had been running all week, with the final two days today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday).

Winton couple and long-time Petsmart.nz customers, Alan and Carolee Kerr were at the Invercargill store today (Friday) to buy Misty, their 4-year-old Bichon Frise cross, her regular dog food.

“We travel in to buy her food from here [Petsmart.nz], we always have,” Mr Kerr said.

Mrs Kerr said Misty was a pound dog, whom they adopted from SPCA Southland, and that people always commented on how friendly and well-behaved she [Misty] is.

Speaking about Petsmart.nz, she said “it’s a great place”.

Tomorrow (May 13) the store, on the corner of Spey and Deveron Sts would be open from 9am-1pm for customers to make the most of the available discounts and there would also be a fundraising barbecue hosted by and benefiting Furever Homes.

The barbecue would run from 10am-1pm and there will also be drinks for sale, as well as scratchy boards and the public will have the chance to snuggle some kittens looking for loving permanent homes.

Graeme had more than 20 years experience in retail management, before buying Petsmart.nz in 2007, and has always been interested in animal health.

Petsmart.nz was at 150 Spey St for 20 years when it started as Four Paws Pantry in 1992, in 2012 Petsmart.nz moved to the bigger showroom where it is now.
