OLDE-OLTHOF, Margaret:
Passed away peacefully at Rowena Jackson Retirement Village, Invercargill, on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, in her 94th year, surrounded by love. Reunited with her dearly loved husband, Fred. Treasured and fondly remembered by all her family and friends, and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in New Zealand and abroad. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff and management at Rowena Jackson for their compassionate care and support of Mum. The Rosary will be recited for Margaret at Sacred Heart Church, 449 North Road, Waikiwi, Invercargill, on Thursday, 12th June, at 7:00 pm. A Requiem Mass to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at the same church on Friday, 13th June, at 11:00 am, followed by interment at Eastern Cemetery. Of Invercargill. Passed peacefully at Kew Hospital surrounded by family and friends, on 5 June, 2025 aged 76 years. Much loved husband, soulmate and best friend of Santi. Dearly loved Dad of Carmen Marshall and Derek Thunders, and grandchildren Matthew; Olivia, Sophie, Nara, and Isaac. Loved brother of Robert. It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and good friend Roger, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, June 8, 2025, aged 66 years. Treasured son of the late Jock and Daphne Strachan, beloved brother to Jan McKeown, Lyn Austin, and the late Rex, and Derek Strachan. Best uncle and great uncle to Kylie, Morgan, Finley, and Neve Potts; Kelvin, Nikki, and Harry McKeown; James, Freya, Scout, and Forrest McKeown; Maxine, Graeme, Jack, and Rex Gannon. A heart felt thank you to all the staff at Hospice Southland, Resthaven, and Gore Health Ltd for all their care and support. A service to celebrate Roger’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14, at Southern Funeral Home, Hokonui Drive, Gore at 11am, followed by refreshments. Private cremation to follow.
