Passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Dearly loved wife of Arthur. Loved mum of Leslie, Mathew (dec), Eion, and Marcelane. Loved mother-in-law of Jill, Sharon, Donna, and Blair. Loved heaps by grandchildren Laura, and Jack; Sheldon, and Ned; Macauley, and Harvey; and Kynan, Davan, and Patterson. Sadly, our beloved Shirley passed away on Thursday December 5, 2024, in the care of Rowena Jackson Retirement Village Hospital Wing, Invercargill. Loved and adored wife of Jack for 65 years, cherished and loved mother and mother-in-law of Dianne and Peter, Gill and Paul, Kathy and Charles. Loved Nan of her grandchildren Stacey and Robbie, Ella, Logan and Jess, and great granddaughter Sophie. Dearly loved wife of the late Geoffrey, devoted mother and mother-in-law of Darren and Claire, Joline and Blair Wilson, special Nana of Holly and Henry, Amelie and Stanley. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Clare and Alister, Brian and Kathy, Bernie and Sue, Paul, Sierra and the late Graham. A service for Catherine will be held in the Cellar Door, 143A Centennial Avenue, Alexandra, at 12.30pm on Tuesday, December 17, followed by private burial. Peacefully in the care of the loving staff at Bupa Windsor Park Care Home, on Tuesday December 10, 2024. Dearly loved and treasured wife of John, much loved mum and mum-in-law of Byron and Jude, Greg and Nickie, Suzanne and Richard, loved Nana of Josh, and Ben, Brad and Kim, and Letitia and Oli, and Charlotte, and loved Great Nana of Archie. The family would like to thank Windsor Park for the special care given to Valmai. A service to celebrate Valmai’s life will be held on Monday December 16,2024 at 1.30pm in St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Devon Street, Gore, followed by a private interment at Charlton Park cemetery.
