Virtual Assistants – The New Executive Assistant

The World of digital media is fast changing and Virtual Assistants are becoming increasingly popular with helping people in business.

Marcie Reidy used Covid-19 as an opportunity to put her 30 years of marketing, graphic design and event coordination into use – in Southland.

Tick Tock South offers a combination of administration, technical and creative services for small to medium businesses.

She can do everything from design a basic website, set up your social media pages and manage them, create logos, as well as organise all of your digital and print advertising.

A Virtual Assistant is technically savvy and carries out many different roles – working remotely as a Creative Executive Assistant, in a home-based office.

“It’s all about shifting our focus around how we seek out and hire new employees. Outsourcing is quickly becoming the way of the future and saves people time and money” she says.

After 11 years working as a marketing co-ordinator for Real Journeys in Queenstown, Marcie and her husband moved to Invercargill in 2013, where she was involved in ticketing and marketing for the Civic Theatre – when Covid-19 hit and her job disappeared overnight.

“I have always worked in an office but this was the perfect time to do something for myself. My vast experience is transferable to any industry, so this is where I saw the opportunity to balance my lifestyle with helping businesses thrive.”

Describing herself as a natural creative, Marcie’s graphic design background meant she can look after the visual side of your business.

“I know that I can take anything on and make it happen, because I have a can-do attitude” she said.

With her many years experience and her ability to organise anything, she is looking to take on new clients and get the jobs done that people just don’t have time for anymore.
