Calling all Junior Golfers
If you know of a keen young golfer, bring them down to Queens Park Golf Club tomorrow (Friday 8 November) at 4pm for a nine hole junior tournament.
It’s open to any junior player, with or without a handicap, and the entry fee is just $5.

Southland Senior Men’s Team Named
Josh Kalweit is getting set to make his National Interprovincial debut, with the promising young golfer named as one of five players to represent Southland’s senior golf team at the national tournament later this month.
The Southland team will contest the tournament at Hastings from November 26 to 30 and features youth, with Kalweit joined by New Zealand U19 champion Liam Hewitt, as well as the experience of Matt Tautari, Liam Balneaves and Leith Campion.
Hole in One – again
Drummond Golf Club member Daryl Corbin has scored his second hole in one for the year; achieving the feat on the par-3 No. 5 hole, known as the “nest”, with a 9 iron from the tee.
Eastern Junior Tournament
Golf Southland’s Primary School Zone tournaments have teed off, with the Eastern Zone the first zone to be contested.
The Waikaka 1 team of Juliana Hastie, Caitlyn Byars, Baxter Hamilton and Olly Cleland were the winners, over runners-up West Gore 1 (Hunter Wade, Will Carson, Phoebe Carson, and Bayley Campion) and third placed Tokanui 2 (Flynn Callahan, Zoe Straford, Kaelan Buckingham and Max Callahan).
Eagles Charity Tournament
The Eagles Society of Southland’s annual charity tournament has raised more than $3500 for the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation.
