ILT has appointed Emma Hunter to a newly created Communications Manager role that will be based at ILT head office.

“I’m very excited to join the team at ILT. It’s an amazing opportunity to be involved in an organisation that plays such an important role in making this city a great place to live, work and play,” Hunter said.

“ILT has a well-established history in Invercargill and I’m looking forward to sharing more about upcoming projects, and telling the stories that people may not know.”

Emma has held a variety of communication and marketing roles most recently in the tourism team at Great South, Southland’s regional development agency. She has a strong background in brand management, content creation and storytelling.

Married to Mike, the couple have two children – Alby (7) and Hugh (5).

Invercargill is going through an incredible period of rejuvenation and I’m really positive about the future for my family, she said.

The position attracted a strong calibre of applicants, and after a robust interview process Emma was appointed. Her public relations experience across a broad range of sectors and her passion for the city put her in good stead for the new role.

ILT Chief Executive Chris Ramsay said they’re delighted that Emma has joined the team.

“She brings a wealth of communications experience with her.”

“ILT is committed to our community and with large scale projects like The Langlands Hotel coming to fruition its invaluable having Emma on board to help bring our story to life, and to help us celebrate the exciting times ahead for ILT and Invercargill,” he said.
