A Christmas Night Market with a twist will be held in the old Everett Studios building at 154 Tay Street the Friday night before December 25.

Co-organiser Tracey O’Neill has converted the abandoned garage into a working space for several small business owners, and now it is time to celebrate.

On Friday December 18th nine stall holders will showcase their products, including Latin American products and food (Enpanada’s), liquorice, soy candles and Eco products.

They now have five small permanent businesses all operating out of the building, and also have aromatic Columbian coffee available at the old market garage.

“Put the word out to anyone wanting to have a stall for the Christmas market. We are delighted that local people have supported it including those who have never had a stall before,” she said.

Next Friday night’s market runs from 5pm to 9pm featuring live music and with nibbles available.

“We’re hoping it will be a really laid back atmosphere and just a little bit different,” she said.

After the market on Friday it will also be open all day Saturday from 8am to 5:30pm and then all day Monday December 21st, Tuesday 22nd, Wednesday 23rd from 10am to 10pm.

On Thursday the market will be open 10am to 5pm for any last minute shopping and then usual business hours will be 8am to 5pm.

The studio will also be open all day Saturday (19th), as well as Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the last week from 10am to 10pm.
