BRIGHT, Iris Irene Mary (Betty). Passed away peacefully at home at 112 West Street, on February 25, 2019, in her 97th year. Dearly beloved wife of the late Richard Bright. Dearly loved Mum of Jim and Eileen (Invercargill), Ian and Valerie (Christchurch), Mary and Gordon McMillan (Greymouth), and Margaret and Peter (Invercargill). Loved Nana B of her 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Always Remembered and Never Forgotten. HALL, Royce Norman. Passed away peacefully at Rowena Jackson on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. A decorated war veteran, in his 96th year. Royce was dearly loved by his late sisters and their husbands, Irene and Stan Donnelly, Connie and Haldane Philpot, Dorothy and Les Mills, and Yvonne and Lawrence Asher. A service to celebrate Juliet’s life will be held at the new Arrowtown Community Centre, Jack Reid Park, Arrowtown, on Tuesday, March 5, at 10.00am, followed by a private cremation. TOPPING, Catherine Mary (Cathy). Tony, Shelley and Ross, Ella, Sam, Tim, and extended family, wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who supported us at the time of Cathy’s illness and passing. We are so grateful for the visits, phone calls, baking, cards and lovely flowers. The love and kindness of friends and family was immeasurable and there are no words to express how thankful we are for this. We are extremely grateful for the amazing medical care provided to Cathy during her illness. A special thank you to Mary and the Hospice team, Anne and her team of district nurses, Lisa and the Respiratory Department, and the wonderful staff in the Oncology and medical ward at Southland Hospital, and Dr Kevin Tyree for his ongoing support and valued care of Cathy. WILSON, Alan Peter (Bessie, Al). Sue, Brad, Steph, Kris, Ricky, Jo and families would like to thank the many people who sent messages, cards, letters, flowers, meals, groceries, and called either in or by phone after the sad loss of Al. We would like to thank the Search and Rescue, the staff of the marina, especially the late Louie, the helicopter search, Marty Black and the many others that helped us with the search. Thanks to Kate and Tim from the Queenstown Police for their support and kindness shown at such a difficult time. We would like to thank Southern Lakes Funeral Home along with Heather for the support and lovely farewell. To the many people that came some long distances to say goodbye to a wonderful man, we thank you, he did touch a lot of peoples lives in one way or another. Thank you to the Victim Support ladies, and also to the many that donated to the Search and Rescue. Also thanks to the Wakatipu Rugby Club for the loan of the clubrooms. There are a couple of people we would like to make a special thanks to, firstly we would like to thank Gerry from Alpine Supermarket, and a huge thanks to Quilly who helped in so many ways, and the boys would especially like to thank you for all your help and support to them. I would like to thank Ashlie for stepping into running the motel for which you did a wonderful job. The biggest thanks goes to Jayne and Henry from the time we found Al was missing until now and in the future. There is no way the boys or myself would have got through this without you guys. As there are just so many people to thank, please accept this as our personal appreciation for all the love and support we have been shown.
