Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Dearly loved husband of Judi and much loved father of Michael and Joanne, Barrie, Catherine and Ron, Elizabeth and David. THOMSON, Joyce Sophia. Of Invercargill, aged 91, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Loved wife of the late David. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Jim and Marianne (Bendigo, Australia), Jan and Paul Rattray (Dunedin). Loved Grandma of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loved Aunt of all her nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held in St Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, North Road, Invercargill on Tuesday, February 26, at 1.00pm, followed by interment St John’s Cemetery, Durham Street, Invercargill. YOUNG, ROBERT JOHN (Rob). At home in Arrowtown on Sunday February 17 2019. Loved partner of Leone Ward. Dearly loved father of Rebecca and Adam, and adored Poppa of Lachie (Melbourne). Son of Owen* and Ella* Young, and brother and brother-in-law of Norman and Sandie (Greymouth), Edith and Ken* Joyce (Dunedin), Margaret & Neil Evans (Pahia), Helen & Glenn Glasson (Adelaide), and Andrew and Rosanne (Pahia). Much loved uncle, cousin and great uncle. A service for Rob will be held on Saturday 23 February, 1.00pm at the Riverton RSA, followed by interment at the Orepuki Cemetery. In memory of Rob, donations to Mike King’s “I AM HOPE” (iamhope.org.nz) can be made at the service. A Memorial Derby St Party will be held for Rob in Arrowtown within the next few weeks. SAGE, Ron. (Of Waikaia). Shirley, Susan, Frances, Ross and families would like to thank everyone for the cards, kind messages, flowers, baking and help we received after the loss of our loved husband, Dad and Grumps. Special thanks to Kay Coates for looking after Ron for the last year, also to the hospital staff at Gore Hospital for caring for him during his final days. To St John staff, we appreciate all you did, especially since most of your callouts were at odd hours. SHEARING, Jamie Charles (Jim). Craig, Caroline and Hayden wish to thank everyone for the heartfelt support received after the sudden loss of our precious son and brother. We have been overwhelmed with the kindness and support bestowed upon ourselves and our extended families. We are so grateful for the visits, phone calls, food deliveries, flowers, text messages and other help received. To all of you who attended Jamie’s farewell – our deepest thanks. At what has been the worst time of our lives, so many of you have helped so much.
