COWIE, Barbara Ann Herbison.
Passed away peacefully at Glenwood Home on Sunday, February 16, 2020, aged 75 years. An adored wife of Norman for 54 years. A much loved mother and mother-in-law of Odelle and Gary Hawkins (Kurow), Megan and Richard Ayres (Mooloolaba Australia), and a devoted nana to her grandchildren. A cherished daughter of the late William and Annie Nicol (Winton), and loved sister and sister-in-law of Mary and David Neill (dec), and Jessie and Noel Hubber (dec). Special thanks to Lorna and the wonderful Staff at Glenwood for their wonderful supportive care of Barbara. A private cremation has been held as this was Barbara’s wish.

Surrounded by her loving family at Rowena Jackson, on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Aged 83 years. A true blue wife of Wilson for 62 years. Devoted and loved mother and mother-in-law of Karen and Peter Cowan (Mataura Island), Joanne and Bruce Dickens (Invercargill), Delwyn and Bill Carey (Oporo), and Jason and Jackie Gray (Wallacetown). Loved Nanny of Nick and Sarah, Scott and Casey, Paige and Brayden; Anton and Bailee, Cruze and Liana, and Abby; Liam; Tamati and Rina, and Tara. On February 15, 2020, peacefully at home in Te Anau after a courageous battle, aged 71 years. Dearly loved husband of Margaret. JOHNSTON, Jayden William.
Born 13 May 1999. Suddenly passed on Sunday 16 February 2020; in his 21st year. Dearly loved son of Jeff and Sue, much loved brother of Holly, Katie, Hannah and Brad, much loved partner of Finlay. Jayden was a great mate to his many friends and a valued member of the Tiger Softball Club, he was also loved by his uncles, aunty’s and cousins. Family and friends are welcome to visit Jayden at 118 Gimblett Place Invercargill from Thursday afternoon. A service will be held for Jayden in the Invercargill Christian Centre, 165 Leet Street on Monday 24 February at 10.00am, interment will follow at the Otautau Cemetery. PADGET, Josephine Margaret (Josie).
Peacefully at Dunedin Hospital on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, aged 70 years. Much loved wife and soulmate of Darrell, loved and cherished mother and mother-in-law of Mandy Clayton (Invercargill), Justin and Jillian Clayton (Manapouri), loved stepmother of Aron and Shara (McKay, Australia), loved Grandma of Taylor Clayton; loved nana of Sebestain and Samantha. Loved daughter of the late Allan and Esta Erskine, loved sister of Alister (Ally), and the wider family. “Treasured Memories, forever in your garden.”
A service to celebrate Josie’s life will be held in Alexandra Bowling Club, 145 Centennial Road, Molyneux Park, Alexandra, on Monday, February 24, at 1.30pm, followed by private cremation. RUTHERFORD, Karen Lee.
Peacefully, on Monday, February 17, 2020, cared for and surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of Marne Street Hospital in Dunedin. Treasured daughter of the late Tommy and Una, adored sister to Scott and the late Tony. Loved aunty to Kayla, bonded sister-in-law to Sarah, and beloved udder daughter to Shary and Ian Davis. In accordance with Karen’s wishes a private family service has been held. She fought a long hard illness for many years and is now finally at peace and shining bright with family passed. On Monday, February 17, 2020, at Christchurch Hospital, aged 82 years. Dearly loved husband of Doreen, loved father and father-in-law of Sonja and the late Joe, Rex and Joss. Surrounded by her loving family on Thursday 13 February 2020; age 79 years. Dearly loved wife and soulmate for 58 years of Keith, a much loved and loving mum and mother-in-law of Sandra, Katrina and Marina, Richard and Paula, a much loved grandma of Roxanna, LeRoy, Lukas, James, much loved great grandma of Skye, Cyrus, Raegan, Aaliyah, and Raven, much loved by all her extended family; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many friends. She lived, she laughed, she loved. Passed peacefully at home on February 20, 2020 surrounded by love. Daughter of Bill and Ann France; beloved wife to Daryl; loving mother to Samara, Miread, and Leeana; loved number 9 of numbers 1-10; wonderful grandma to 7 grandies. A celebration of Biff’s life will be held at St Theresa’s Church, Perth Street, on Tuesday, February 25, at 11.00am. Please wear something bright in her honour. Florence, Jean, David, Andrew, Malcolm, Richard and families would like to thank everyone for their kindness shown to us in the recent passing of Alan with visits, phone calls, cards, baking, hugs and prayers that have helped us through this time of grief. Alison, Dianne, Austin, and Robyn wish to sincerely thank everyone who attended Harold’s memorial service in Geraldine, especially those who travelled considerable distances. Special thanks to the Rev Tony Kippax and Ro Acland who officiated the service and gave us wonderful support. The help of the Geraldine AAW ladies in serving afternoon tea was also greatly appreciated. Many thanks to everyone who brought food, flowers and sent cards and letters. A big thank you to Harold’s many caregivers and the staff at McKenzie Health Care who took excellent care of Harold during his last few weeks. Please accept this acknowledgement as our sincere expression of gratitude and appreciation.

Marg, Jeannene, Karen, Blair, and their families would like to sincerely thank everyone for their love and support shown to us in the loss of a very dear husband, father, and grandad. To our families, relatives, neighbours, friends and the Lawrence Cancer Support Group, our most heartfelt thanks for your visits, food, cards, letters, flowers, messages and phone calls, your support has been overwhelming. To all the Doctors and Nursing Staff at Clutha Health First, Dr Ruth Alberts and the team at Lawrence Medical Centre, Dunedin Hematology team; Dr Chiruka, Dr Fagan, and Rosie and Heather from Otago Hospice, you all tried so hard for Ian, and your care was exceptional, we are forever grateful. A special thanks to Alex McLaughlin for your numerous visits which we all enjoyed and for your warm and personal service. To all that attended Ian’s farewell, especially those that travelled so far to support us all – thank you. A big thanks to everyone who spoke at the service, Ian would have been proud of you all. To Rachael from J Frasers & Sons, thank you for your compassion – you are one special lady. We ask that you accept this as our heartfelt and personal acknowledgement from all the family.
