Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle, at Hospice Southland, on September 2, 2021, aged 56. Dearly loved father of Kayla (Auckland) and best friend of Nessa. At home in Nelson on Friday, 10 September, 2021; aged 91 years. Beloved husband of the late Nancy. Loved father and father-in-law of Mary and Philip McKinlay, Barbara and Chris Seeley, John and Gay, Anna, Bede and Claire, and the late Joe. Loved and respected Grandad of Nick, Matthew, Patrick, Grace and Liam, Carley, Sophie and Sam, Gabrielle, Hugh, and Rhys. Great-Grandad of Olivia, Tommy, Arlo, Sebastian and Super Grandad of KÃ¡ra. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated for David at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Manuka Street, Nelson, on Thursday, 16 September, at 1.00pm, followed by interment at Wakapuaka Cemetery. Surrounded by his loving family at home on Saturday, September 11, 2021. Aged 4 years 4 months. Cherished son of Craig Hawkes and Kyla Elder. Best mate and buddy of brother Elliot.
