Join OSEA and Presbyterian Support Southland, also kindly sponsored by ILT for a White Ribbon breakfast. White Ribbon was formed opposing violence to women. Please come along on Wednesday 25 November from 7.30 am – 9.00 am at the Ascot Park Hotel.
“So how do we change it? In all of our relationships – whānau, friends, colleagues, teammates – we can challenge the outdated stereotypes of what it means to be a man. We can role model healthy relationships and focus on strength that comes from a kaupapa of respect and aroha. We can call each other out and encourage more kōrero about gender equality.
By challenging each other in constructive ways we become stronger, and support change for those who need it the most. It’s time to shake off the old and reveal the new.”
Guest speaker the Very Reverend Ray Coster of Mount Manganui, White Ribbon’s newest ambassador, is calling on churches to support the campaign opposing violence towards women. Ray is a former national leader of the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa who recently retired after 39 years of parish ministry. He is on the international World Council of Churches committee as the representative for New Zealand member churches, and is also the Chair of the NZ Board of the International Christian Blind Mission.
The event will be held at the Ascot Hotel – please register here to secure your seat.
