THE PHANTOM THREAD | Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson United States 2017

2 hours 10 minutes | English, French | M

Set in the allure of 1950’s post-war London, legendary dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril are setting the British fashion trends, dressing royalty, movie stars, socialites and dames. With that prestige, women come and go through Woodcock’s life, providing him with inspiration and companionship, until he comes across Alma, who soon becomes a fixture in his life as his muse and lover. Once leading a controlled and calculated life, he finds his carefully tailored existence disrupted by love. Nominated for Best Picture at the 2018 Academy Awards, this has been declared a masterpiece and is the final role in the fabulous career of Daniel Day-Lewis.

Memberships available – full year $180, half year $100 (before/after 20 July).
