John Corbin has a terminal lung disease and only months left to live. Instead of spending his final days making memories and spending time with his loved ones, he has been “saving madly” to cover the costs of his funeral, with the help of a Give a Little page as well.

While his finances and lungs have held John Corbin back, Rugby Southland has stepped up and given him an experience his family can remember forever.

“I was humbled to be able to go to a rugby game,” John Corbin says.
“Rugby Southland organised me and my family indoor seating for the Southland Stags vs North Harbour game and a visit to meet a few players in the changing rooms.

“Thank you to Rugby Southland, and especially Jack King, their marketing coordinator, who made it all happen.”

John Corbin says the experience was something he will never forget and thought it was unable to happen.
“I feel very thankful that Rugby Southland went out of its way for a supporter.”
